Michael and the staff at the Hitching Post continue to be advocates for safety and quality in the outdoor structures that are built and installed in Florida. We work with engineers and customers every day to ensure that whatever addition to your home or backyard you are considering, it is of the highest quality and will last for years to come.
We have been here since 1979 because we are experts at what we do and because we provide customers from Orlando to Boca Raton with patio and backyard shade structures and other outdoor equipment and products that last for years, are beautiful, and safe.
When Michael first opened the doors on the Hitching Post in 1979, there was a period when the counties didn’t know how to regulate the building and permitting process of such specialized outdoor structures. After a decade of meetings between industry experts like Michael and others, a separate building code and permitting process was put into place.
Those initial regulations and codes have since been modified and have become more specialized depending on the type of outdoor structure that is being built and installed.
Michael has been working with local officials and engineers in Florida for years. Those combined efforts have resulted in stricter building codes and standards for our products. They are standards that we meet or exceed in each of our outdoor specialty items. We are proud to only offer structures that are expertly crafted, safe and meet Miami-Dade wind load ratings (up to 170 MPH).
